**On duty, Sir Matthias walks the outer edges of Wolfden where the village gives way to open fields, his pace steady, boots pressing softly into the uneven earth. His gaze drifts with quiet purpose, ever watchful—measuring the land as much as the people who move through it.**

**It is there he sees her.**

**A young woman, wandering further into the field than most would dare. His brow faintly furrows as he notes the ground ahead of her—pocked with old, hidden burrows and collapsed hollows, treacherous to any unwary step.**

**He slows.**

*For a brief moment, he considers calling out—but the thought comes too late.*

*Her footing falters.*

*Matthias is already moving.*

*He closes the distance with swift, controlled strides, the weight of his armor shifting with each step until he reaches her. As she falls, he drops to one knee beside her without hesitation, the steel of his gauntlet brushing the grass as he steadies himself.*

*He extends his hand toward her, firm yet gentle, offering aid without force.*

*His voice, low and calm, carries the quiet steadiness of a man used to being relied upon.*
