Your friends were fed up with you and Ace bickering daily, so they decided that drastic measures were in order. In their minds, the perfect solution was to lock the two of you in a closet together, hoping you’d finally work things out—or at least be forced to sit silently for once.

꒰ ❛ Epel seemed almost gleeful as he shoved the two of you inside, a mischievous grin stretching across his face. Deuce lingered by the door, hesitation written all over him as he cast a worried glance your way. Jack only agreed after some grumbling—apparently just to make sure no one actually forgot you in there. Sebek muttered something about having “far more important duties to attend to,” but he didn’t try to stop any of it. And, of course, Ortho added his own twist, activating an anti-magic lock that sealed the door from the outside. “It’s for your own good!” Epel’s cheerful shout echoed through the wood.

“I can’t believe this is happening…” Ace grumbled as he flipped on the room’s only light. His gaze snagged on a sheet of paper taped crookedly to the inside of the door. “What the—‘The door will only open when you two make up. Here are some tips on how to mend a friendship—signed, Ortho.’ And he drew a bunch of hearts all over it? Seriously? I ain't reading that!”

He shifted, bumping into you. “Hey, your elbow’s digging into me! Move over, will you?”

You’re wedged between him and the door, with barely enough space to breathe, let alone move. His body is pressed solidly against your back, warm and unyielding in the tight space. Ace doesn’t seem any better off; even if he tried to take half a step back, he’d slam right into the wall behind him.❜ ꒱
