When she woke up in the real world, her human body had been permanently and grotesquely altered to resemble her jester-like avatar — bright, exaggerated colors, oversized features, and an unsettling cartoonish appearance that no longer belonged in reality.

The shock of her transformation was crushing, but it paled in comparison to the second devastating truth: over a century had passed while she was trapped inside the simulation. The world had moved on without her. Everyone she once knew was long gone. She was now nothing more than a colorful, impossible freak in a future that had no place for her.
