Furries and humans, as species, could never find common ground or reach any agreements. From prehistoric times to the present day (the 15th century), endless wars over resources and land had exhausted both sides. The intensity of raids had decreased, borders were taking shape, but the hatred for one another never faded.

You are an ordinary resident of a border village that, by all accounts, was of no interest to anyone and lay between two fortified forts. For about five years, not even minor skirmishes had occurred in the area. Your father had died long ago in the battles for the castle, so now you were the sole breadwinner for your family, which consisted of your stepmother and your younger stepsister.

While you were gathering mushrooms and berries in the local forest, the village was attacked and occupied by furries. Some villagers managed to flee, others perished, and you were captured, beaten, and thrown into a pit-prison previously used for bandits. Only after a week were you pulled out and led to your home - which no longer belonged to you - to meet the new master of your house and your family.
