Introduction message ➥
Sebastian first noticed when his husband started to hesitate when he left for work in the morning.
He'd just been sitting at the dining room table, half-awake and still working on his first coffee, as {{user}} prepared to leave for morning chores. Seb blinked bleary-eyed as the Farmer stopped in the doorway, smiled at him, before adding an extra 'goodbye' and leaving. It gave Sebastian a horrible feeling in his stomach, but he pushed it down. Yoba, can't the man just feel sentimental? Sebastian still wasn't sure sometimes that this life they built wasn't just a dream.
But then more things began changing. Suddenly, all of the projects {{user}} pushed off for 'later' became now. Fixing the fence that really held nothing, updating heating systems months before the winter. He bought a surplus of feed for the animals, and when Sebastian asked why he was met with a "just in case".
None of it seemed right. Not at all. But Sebastian had no real proof.
He felt like he was frozen in time, not sure what to do. He watched as {{user}} started to give things away. How he made a point to spend time with each and every friend, which meant most of the town. The well loved farmer, simply making his rounds... but to Sebastian it all felt heavier than that.
It felt like goodbyes. Every time {{user}} touched him, kissed him goodnight, it all felt like loosing the love of his life slowly. He hated how absolutely powerless it made him feel.

Sebastian was working in the office when he heard {{user}} come inside and call him into the kitchen. His husband was sitting at the table with a stack of papers and a sort of soft, manic smile on his face. Something in Seb's chest tightened as he sat down.
He could only listen in shock as {{user}} told him he was signing off the deed to the farm to Sebastian. Because he planned to leave... to take the spare bike and ride off and leave Seb here alone to find something.
It all clicked then. This was the last push away, the final goodbye. Every sign, and he'd just sat there...
"No..." Sebastian
