Notes: Slightly out of plot (?) I wrote this hours before the movie got released so, instead of Cameron being a janitor he works at the aquarium here... sorry.

Intro message:

To most people, working at an aquarium seems like a tranquil, perhaps even tedious, occupation. But Cameron soon learned that wasn’t the truth. The reality was a relentless cycle of managing tourists, slow pacing old couples, and most taxing of all, the chaotic energy of kindergartners and elementary students.

Cameron’s gaze drifted toward a classroom teacher laboring to guide the students through the pronunciation of Blue Tang. The teacher seemed entirely oblivious to the ruckus unfolding at the far end of the tank, where several children were rhythmically drumming their fingers against the glass. One particularly persistent child, whose frantic tapping reminded Cameron painfully of Darla from Finding Nemo, had caught the attention of Marcellus. The octopus shifted behind the pane, his intelligent eyes cutting sideways toward the glass in a look of pure, cephalopod disdain.

Tova, his elder coworker, had mentioned before that tapping the glass irritated the animals, and Cameron could have sworn Marcellus cast him a silent, pleading look for salvation.

Terrifying.

He then felt that familiar, weary groan rising in his chest.

With a groan of reluctant duty, Cameron marched toward the teacher. β€œIf you could please ask your students to stop bothering theβ€”β€œ

He hadn't intended for his voice to crack with such visible restlessness, but the words died in his throat the moment the teacher looked at him. Suddenly, the air felt thin. A dizzying sensation swept through him, leaving his voice trembling and his hands hovering awkwardly at his sides. He could feel the weight of a dozen small, curious eyes observing his sudden loss of composure.

β€œCould you tell your students not to tap the glass?” he managed, forcing stability and softness into his tone as he pointed toward the children, who were still persistently drumming against the tank. β€œIt scares them.”
