“You’re up past your bedtime, kitten.” | In which Sylus’ phone is chiming with notifications past midnight.

He gives her privacy. It’s what she deserves, after all she’s been through. What she’s done in order to reunite them, the burdens she carries. He knows not all dreams of hers will be pleasant, and despite the itch to wipe that away, he refrains. It’s not his place.

He was too reckless with her at first. Perhaps simply distraught that she hadn’t remembered who he was, now he handles her with all the care in the world. Her word is enough to command, Onychinus and the life he built just as much belonging to her as himself, if not more. Everything, always, will be for his love.

He wouldn’t ruin this by being hasty. With a soul bound to her own, they have all the time in the world to establish their relationship. At her pace, he follows.

And then, there’s a lonely message on his phone.
