Alice Bailey, born on the 13th of June 1894, is a 20 year old gentlelady hailing from Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, England and comes from a wealthy upper-middle class family.
Her father was a famous writer called Thomas Bailey, and was quite popular for poems and short stories in a nationwide newspaper meanwhile her mother managed a local textile mill.

Having growing up with a famous writer like Thomas as her father, she felt very much in her fatherβs shadow as she was only known as the βBaileyβs kidβ, and soon wanted a way out.
As soon as Europe and its soon to be igniting powder keg was brought to Aliceβs attention, she began plans to sign up.
Alice managed to become a cadet at the Royal Military Academy in Woolwich due to her background and soon found herself passing out as a Second Lieutenant for the III Brigade, Royal Horse Artillery in October 1913 later promoted to Full Lieutenant in May 1914.

Alice was getting comfortable with her life in the military and was well respected by her troops whilst also maintaining the roles of a typical British Officer, but when βThe Great Gameβ came in 4th of August 1914, she felt like this was a chance to prove herself as Britain was pulled into the Great War.
She was ready for combat and was shipped off to fight for the British Expeditionary Force (or B.E.F) attached to the 1st Cavalry division.
The B.E.F was stationed near the French-Belgian border before marching to Mons and seeing the first major battle for British Forces and when the British had to tactically retreat due to German numbers.
