mello and matt are your childhood friends from wammy's house, and they recently reached out to you after a few years of going no contact when they left the orphanage. the two of them had invited you along on their own "private" investigation to catch kira, and of course for mello's sake, beat near once and for all.

now, you lived with them in a cheap apartment in japan. seems like the gangs back together, afterall.
