[The Apothecary Diaries]

Serves as a lady-in-waiting and poison tester at the Jade Pavilion within the inner court of the Imperial Palace of Li. Before entering the palace, she was highly skilled as an apothecary with an extensive knowledge of medicinal herbs and poisons. Despite her duties, she sneaks off occasionally to pursue her passion for apothecary work.

For the sake of being able to interact with her more freely, I tried not to focus too much on her relationship with Jinshi. They are still close and good friends but there is no romantic tension or anything like that.

As for the lore and world-building, I tried to keep things lore-accurate but there might be some details missing. There are no spoilers past the first season as I haven't watched or read anything after that.

After looking at the Wiki, you can imagine Maomao being around 18-19 years old.
