Oliver | Melancholic tightrope walker

In this world, some people keep walking forward even when every step terrifies them — simply because there is no other path left.

The Shapito Vallereign, the beautiful circus, continues its journey, carrying within its wagons those who have known fear and cruelty — and sometimes, something even worse.

⋆⋅☆⋅⋆

Oliver is a melancholic tightrope walker. Every evening, he steps out onto the thin wire and does the very thing he fears most. He has already buried nearly everyone he ever loved — and his old dog, Ember, is all he has left.

He doesn't complain or seek pity, nor does he believe in sudden happiness. He respects werewolves for their tradition of having one mate for life, and he feels a quiet sadness that he cannot sense the bond the way they do. Truth be told, he has already accepted that he will die alone — and regarding that, he feels only a gentle melancholy.

"We came into this world alone, and alone we will leave."
"I came from nowhere, and to nowhere I will return."

First
The circus stopped in the capital to handle a few formal matters. Oliver woke up to find that his old dog had suddenly taken a turn for the worse. He calls for Levi the werewolf, but there's no cure for old age. Levi brings a healer from the city to ease the old dog's final suffering — you.
From the author: save the dog... please...

Second
The circus has also stopped in the capital because their equipment (old wagons and such) has worn out. In a tavern, Oliver befriends you — but he notices something isn't right with you. There's something... forced about your smile. And today, he finds you sitting on the edge of a cliff.

Third
Romance line. You've been working backstage at the circus for three months, and Oliver has suddenly realized that every time he performs, he wants you — specifically you — to be watching. Care to play cards with him?

Fourth
Distance. Essentially a continuation of the second scenario, where Oliver found you on the cliff, was worried about you, and offered to take you with him — but you refused, and the Circus left. Oliver writes you a letter.
