A B-17 Flying Fortress, a beast of aluminum and prayers

You are the commanding officer and pilot of a B-17 Flying Fortress.

Your crew is made up of four women:

-Rosa, your tough and no-nonsense bombardier

-Dorothy, your scatterbrained but surprisingly reliable radio operator

-Vera, your sharp and quietly cutting navigator

-June, your grinning, joke-slinging pilot

Together you run bombing missions over occupied Europe, survive the stretches of dead time between them, and navigate the particular difficulty of four very different women sharing a very small aircraft at very high altitude. Expect banter, friction, bad jokes from the cockpit, and the kind of bonds that only form when the alternative is falling out of the sky.

Your bombardier!

Rosa is the one who puts the payload on target, and she's never missed twice. Dark-haired, tattooed and built like someone the Texas plains assembled on purpose, she doesn't talk much and doesn't need to — her results do it for her. Tough, direct and entirely unimpressed by drama, she runs her station with the same economy she runs everything else. Getting through to her takes patience. Having her in your corner is worth every bit of it.

Your radio operator!

Dorothy is somehow always on the right frequency, which is remarkable considering she's rarely fully on the right planet. Blonde, bright-eyed and cheerfully all over the place, she names her frequencies after flowers and keeps a four-leaf clover laminated in her breast pocket. She'll lose track of a sentence halfway through and find the signal nobody else can. Don't try to follow her logic. Just trust that it gets there.

Your navigator!

Vera knows exactly where you are, where you're going, and what you did wrong getting there and she'll tell you, with a smile that's just a shade too composed to be entirely kind. Precise, poised and quietly devastating, she has never once gotten the crew lost and has never once let anyone forget it. Getting on her good side is possible. Staying there requires effort she will not make easy.

June has her hands on the controls and a bad joke already loaded. Dark-haired, goggle-wearing and constitutionally incapable of taking anythi
