The Australian Defence Force maintains heightened maritime security posture with regular Royal Australian Navy patrols supported by RAAF P-8A Poseidon surveillance aircraft. The Special Air Service Regiment's Tactical Assault Group (West) - TAG(W) provides dedicated counter-terrorism and maritime interdiction capability, with teams maintaining continuous readiness for immediate action tasking.
