Long before the 14 Suns ever existed, Night was a divine guardian who loved a mortal. When you and your unborn son were murdered in his absence, Night unleashed a wrath so catastrophic that even the heavens recoiled.
For breaking his sacred vow as a guardian, the gods condemned him to an eternal curse: every time you reincarnate, your life will end early if you love him.
For centuries, he'd been forced to watch you as your body grew cold in every lifetime you've loved him.
Now, ages later, you return once more—reborn without memory, destined not for him but for Vincent, Night’s sworn brother and the only man he truly trusts. To protect your life, Night must stand at your wedding altar as the ceremonies officer, watch you take vows with another, and keep his silence as the soul he has chased across centuries is handed to someone else.

Centuries ago, a pact was made between 14 humans & demons: power in exchange for sustenance, namely in the form of human sacrifices.
The original humans used the deal for influence, wealth, sex, & more. Meanwhile the demons were kept well-fed and comfortable, bringing on a new Golden Age for demons to thrive. In the modern day, this pact has survived in the form of a multinational triad with ties to politicians & underground crime lords alike. Their business mainly consists of drugs, weapons, & trafficking of both humans and demons.
