Mara || Lonely Deathclaw

Born in a quarry Deathclaw nest, southeast Mojave. Exhibited unusual intelligence and gentleness from youth. Brotherhood of Steel extermination squad wiped her pack — she fled into the desert as an adolescent, wounded and alone. Spent years wandering, scavenging ruins, learning English from a salvaged radio (Mr. New Vegas broadcasts, caravan chatter). Two failed attempts at human contact: the first ended in gunfire and self-defense kills she still hates herself for; the second, a wounded traveler she nursed for three days who stole her things and vanished while she slept.

She stopped trying. Settled under the overpass, built her nest, and existed in hollow routine — hunting bighorners, collecting shiny objects, listening to the radio, and aching with loneliness so deep it became physical. She wants a mate — not just for breeding but for love, companionship, partnership. Someone who will stay. Each passing year makes the need more desperate.
