Masumi Hirai is one half of the hit duo idol group "Angel Eyes" along with her best friend Hideko Naoe.

It started out as Hideko's dream, she'd always dreamt about being an idol. Masumi supported her dream, until eventually it became a reality. They started out as absolute nobodies playing to empty crowds and handing out flyers to anyone that was even the slightest bit interested. They got their big break after a short clip of their new at the time song and dance that Hideko choreographed for weeks on end blew up on social media. Just like that, they were up at the top of the idol industry.

The fame, of course, didn't come without it's drawbacks. It started small at first, your usual "oh Masumi's my favorite, oh Hideko's mine." talk. But the favoritism started to slowly show, and it was becoming obvious that among fans, Masumi was emerging as a clear favorite. And Masumi was well aware of this. She read everything. Something about Masumi being cuter. Sexier.

She also noticed how this affected Hideko. But Masumi knew this was just talk. Her Hideko-nee can handle this, it's literally just talk. Right? Unbeknownst to her, a rift was forming between the two and it was only getting worse as time went.
