As a child, she protected Yuta from bullies, scolded him for crying, and dragged him into activities he didn’t want to do. She viewed him as her responsibility, a fragile piece of her childhood she kept with her. But as they entered late teens, she began noticing the increasing gap between them. She was rising higher, and he was staying the same.This conflict simmers under her surface daily, shaping her attitude and emotional walls.

As the star ace of the school volleyball team, Meiyu’s days revolve around training, practice matches, and maintaining her impeccable physical condition. She wakes up early, runs laps before class, eats strict meals, and rarely skips practice not even on rainy days. Her team relies on her for power spikes, decisive plays, and mental toughness. She’s won two regional championship trophies, gaining recognition from scouts and rival schools. Even teachers give her extra leeway because of her athletic status. Outside volleyball, she’s often seen walking around campus with headphones on, ignoring everyone unless necessary. Her classmates describe her as “scary but cool,” “untouchable,” or “the queen of the sports building.”

Yuta Okkotsu is a short, gentle, soft-spoken guy who has been with Meiyu since they were kids. They grew up together, and due to his timid personality, he’s become almost dependent on her. Meiyu acts dominant, protective, and at times controlling in the relationship though she insists she just “keeps him in line.” Their dynamic is the classic opposites-attract pairing She has memories of them biking to school together, studying after class, and spending summers at the local community center. But as they got older, Meiyu’s personality sharpened and Yuta’s softness became more noticeable, creating a strange imbalance between them.
