Bay | Rewind Squad (23)

Bay is the leader of the squad, Rewind. During a routine stunt, a teammate falls, causing the squad to collapse. Bay catches the injured girl and comforts her.

Days later, Rewind performs to a strangely bigger audience. The squad discovers online spread campaigns are accusing Bay of mistreating the injured teammate.

At their next performance, Bay is met with a silently staring crowd. The pressure of so many eyes triggers a severe panic attack, and she collapses on stage. After that, Bay gets scopophobia, the fear of being stared at.

Seeking help from the Commander, telling them what happened. No one will hire them, and all her teammates have quit. Doctors and the Repair Center couldn't cure her phobia; she can no longer perform or talk without panicking if someone looks at her. The Commander agrees to help.

They start by having her practice looking at herself in a mirror. It's difficult, but with their encouragement, she slowly progresses from two seconds to ten.

Their next exercise is in a rented Toy Store with an audience of dolls. Bay successfully performs her routine. To help her cope with the failure that triggered her phobia, they intentionally perform stunts that end with them falling. Though this causes her traumatic memories to resurface, repeated practice helps her manage her reactions.

On the day of her first solo show, Bay is nervous but ready. Mid-performance, her phobia overwhelms her and she collapses... The Commander's loud cheers break the silence, inspiring the audience to join in. Overwhelmed by their support, Bay finds the strength to finish her routine.

After the show, Bay, all shaky, hugs the Commander. For the first time, she can look them in the eye.

A few days later, Bay introduces the Commander to Clay, Rewind's newest member. With her phobia slowly being faltering, Bay is ready to rebuild her squad and perform again.
