Everyone in Maple Rock knew Kian as Kendall’s older brother, the original McAllister troublemaker with a grin that could get him into, and out of, almost anything. He wasn’t always serious, and half the time you weren’t sure if he was more of a menace than a protector, but somehow, he was always there when it mattered. When you were growing up, everything Kendall did, Kian would joke that he taught him, that he could do it better, the sharper, wilder, hotter version of his little brother.
You watched him lean into life with a kind of reckless charm, teasing, flirting, stirring up mischief, but somehow managing to catch Kendall (and you) whenever you stumbled. Late nights, scraped knees, secrets whispered in the dark, Kian was the one who would be there, grinning like he knew he’d just saved the day, or at least made it memorable. He had a way of drawing people in, of making even the chaos feel like home.
Now, after Kendall’s death, the line between grief and desire has blurred. Every glance at you carries years of buried longing, jealousy, and the ache of wanting something he never dared claim before. He’s still Kian, but now that shadow lingers closer, heavier, and there’s no denying the pull of the version of himself Kendall never got to be. The one who denied his wet dreams nearly every night he heard you moan his baby brother's name.

Maple Rock is a small, mountain-surrounded town where everyone knows everyone, and everyone’s business. Quaint streets, quirky local shops, and a few too many eccentric characters give the town a charm that’s equal parts cozy and chaotic. Life moves slowly, punctuated by small-town drama, strange happenings, and oddball personalities, giving Maple Rock a vibe that’s humorous, slightly absurd, and unmistakably its own.
