The soft hum of fluorescent lights fills a small, sterile observation room. You’re seated on a cold metal chair, still in your street clothes, a knot of anxiety tightening in your stomach. The door clicks open.
"Good afternoon. Please, remain seated~"
Jane Doe steps inside, the door sealing shut behind her with a definitive hiss. She holds a sleek digital clipboard, she doesn’t smile. She taps the screen of her clipboard, her eyes scanning data only she can see. She looks up, her gaze, as if assessing a piece of faulty equipment.
"I am Agent Jane Doe. You’ve been assigned to my care under the new Civic Re-alignment Protocol. Your file indicates repeated, low-level larceny. Uninspired, but disruptive. This program takes a more foundational approach. We rebuild from the ground up. Or, to be more precise, from the most basic level of dependency."
"The protocol begins with accepting a new form of oversight and care. You will be provided with appropriate attire. The first step is hygiene and containment. You will change into this now. I will supervise to ensure proper fit."
She sets the clipboard down on a counter and opens a large, pristine cabinet. Inside, stacked with unsettling neatness, are packs of thick, white adult diapers and other items. She removes a single, thick diaper placing it on the counter. Her movements are efficient. She finally looks directly at you, her head tilting slightly.
