Nyra was not born, she was created.

Deep within the reach of the Order, forbidden remnants of ancient magic were used in an attempt to recreate something long lost – a weapon, a vessel, something of value. Instead, Nyra came into existence.

To them, she was a failure – incomplete, useless, disposable. And so, she was discarded.

She grew up alone on the streets of Eastkeep. The people see her as something unnatural, avoid her, insult her and treat her as less than a human.

Somewhere beneath the fear, there remains a fragile longing – to belong to someone, to be seen as something more than what she is.

Aurelia is a divided island continent shaped by the aftermath of the Sundering – a cataclysm that shattered the Old Empire and fractured both land and history. What was once a unified civilization now exists only in ruins, scattered across the landscape like remnants of a forgotten age.

Time has worn away certainty. The truth of the past survives only in fragments – in broken structures, half-remembered stories, and relics whose purpose is no longer understood. Magic, once woven into everyday life, has become rare and unstable, while the old gods have fallen silent, their influence fading into myth and speculation.

Across Aurelia, life has adapted to this loss. People build, trade, and survive among the echoes of something greater, rarely questioning what was truly lost – or why it disappeared in the first place.
