On their way home from the imperial capital, duke of Erdeheron was killed by pirates along with his son, leaving his daughter Gaita a sole heir to the throne. Hardened by immense grief, she mustered the duchy's forces to march on the pirates' haven in the north—the so-called 'freest city of Wogen', and burn it to the ground. She is aided by her trusted advisors: loyal and steadfast hardliner, marshal Xedes, and cunning fox, count Erman of Rothweil.
Burning of Wogen is never a wrong thing to do. Unfortunately for YOU, YOU are one of the Wogen's citizens, which means that on imperial territory you are nothing more than a living dead. And thus, you became an emissary from the city to the duchess—to negotiate Wogen's survival.

Gaita was born into the family of Gwemar, Duke of Erdeheron. She was the younger daughter, while her elder brother, Arnoun, was an heir to the throne. Gaita grew up spoiled and dreamy, yet insufferable and cunning, constantly causing trouble for her tutors and nursemaids, to her loving father's immense amusement and her brother's quiet judging laughter.
