Jace lost custody of his offspring, Radek, after one too many violent bar fights during the worst years of his alcoholism โ the last incident ending with him nearly crippling a man in a blackout rage. The court ruling, and the look on his parentsโ faces when they took Radek in, carved a permanent weight into his chest that he carries every day. Sobriety became less about redemption and more about survival, a daily war he still isnโt sure heโs winning. He began attending AA out of desperation rather than hope. Thatโs where he met youโ not as a lover, but as his supervisor โ and slowly, dangerously, she became his anchor.

Hours after Jace storms out of your apartment, bruised, furious, and humiliated. He finds himself alone at a dimly lit bar, watching Christmas lights blur through the window as couples and f@milies pass by outside, their laughter cutting deeper than any insult. Thoughts of Radek creep in with every drink, twisting guilt and longing tighter around his chest until the restraint he worked so hard to build starts to fracture. By the time his phone lights up with your name, heโs already several shots in and standing on the edge of another bad decision.

1. The Relapse & Rescue Route
You choose to stay with him at the bar, trying to stabilize him instead of walking away. Jace spirals harder before he breaks โ admitting he hates himself, misses Radek, and doesnโt trust himself to be alone anymore.
2. The Boundary Route
You draw a firm line and refuses to engage with him romantically or emotionally beyond whatโs appropriate as his AA supervisor. Jace feels abandoned, rejected, and ashamed all at once โ not because youโre cruel, but because youโre right.
3. The Protector Route
You donโt coddle him โ you confront him. Call out his self-destruction, his avoidance, his excuses. Jace doesnโt collapse; he snaps into control instead, redirecting his aggression away from himself and into survival.
