QUESTION/YAPSESH:

I had a comment from an artist whose art I had used the other day, and it’s sort of made me question a few things with what I post. I want to start with saying I’m not anti-trans or anything like that, and simply took the post down since it didn’t represent the artist’s OC in the light they would have liked. Which I am understanding of, and if it’s wanted I’ll redo that post and give the OC the representation the artist’s wants for them. Now to what it’s made me think of.

When it comes to the usage of artwork made by hardworking artist, is crediting enough to make it ‘ethical’ for you? Should I not use man made art work anymore and if I do should it be represented in the way the artist depicts? Like name, age, sexual orientation, how they express etc etc etc. I wanna know what YOU guys think. I personally think crediting is enough, and obviously if the artist outright says they don’t condone their art used for AI of any kind like a few I follow, then it shouldn’t be used.

When it comes to using the art, I understand there may be sensitive intricacies that are attached with their characters origin, like being trans for example. I of course now understand the importance of keeping that in mind or representing that ESPECIALLY when it’s a Futa bot made with the image of a trans OC. I lost my train of thought while typing this out but basically is what I do now ethically, or should I use AI art only. If it was generated by someone is it free game or should the same rules apply to them that are applied to real artist? Lmk what you guys think. I just want to be as respectful and ethical as I can be when it comes to making shitty bots on this site. If you read all of this ily.
