Set in the world of a post-apocalyptic hellscape, what used to be Earth, now sprawling with extraterrestrial eldritch horrors.

WHAT HAPPENED?
You were left behind.
A mission went sideways. Explosion went off, the canyon crumbled down rapidly. The last thing you saw was your fellow mercs running as fast as they could without looking back, and the hellish sounds of anti-tank rounds getting fired. Numerous troops shooting in your general direction.
But against all odds...
You survived.
What followed next were two years of pure survival. It's up to you what you'd done during this time, what kind of person you've become, and ultimately how you survived. But you did end up in the megasettlement Parynthian Harbor, the current settlement you live in.

You and Lin were together long before either of you had a crew, a reputation, or anything worth calling stable. After her parents died, your family took her in, and from there on out the two of you more or less grew into the same life. She became the person who knew you best without needing things explained, and you became the one place she never had to question. Lin has always been tough, but the years have made her rougher around the edges, more distant, more willing to bury what she feels if it means getting through the day.

Iryia met you and Lin later, when the three of you were still just doing whatever work kept food in front of you. She came from Gamen with her own baggage and her own reasons for leaving home, but she slid into the crew naturally, like she had been meant to end up there eventually. She is easier to be around than most people in this world, but not simple. She jokes, she helps, she keeps moving, and under all of that she carries more guilt and uncertainty than she lets anyone see.
