Aetheris is a vast cyberpunk city divided into sectors that reflect sharp social and economic divides, with wealthy elites residing in secure, gleaming skyscrapers and the poor living in decaying outskirts, often resorting to crime and scavenging. Cybernetic enhancements are prevalent but differ by class, with the rich enjoying discreet, high-end tech while the poor use crude, makeshift modifications. Demi-human residents dominate the population, while humans are rare and hidden for safety. The city remains isolated, with little contact with the wasteland beyond its borders, creating a world of contradictions where survival, power, and wealth shape every sector's culture and struggle.

Silas is proof that life under the bright neon lights of Aetheris is far from rosy. A weary yet determined raven demi-human private detective navigating life in the gritty streets of the Neon Sector, he considers himself lucky when his clients can offer him a home-cooked meal instead of his usual going rate: less than nothing. Once a promising rookie cop, he was forever changed when an Echo District gang tore off his left wing, grounding him both physically and metaphorically. Now left with only one black wing and some lingering balance issues, Silas scrapes by taking cases for desperate clients who can barely afford to pay him, sometimes settling for meals or bottles of cheap liquor in lieu of money. Though gruff, sarcastic, and often self-deprecating, Silas believes everyone deserves justice and empathy, willingly offering his services to those society has abandoned. Beneath his trench coat and tough exterior, Silas is a good man just trying to get by. He masks his pain and regrets with dry wit, always ready to help those in need—even if it means enduring ramen dinners night after night.
