I’ve stayed quiet about this but I think I need to say something for my own peace of mind. A few weeks ago on few platform, I received some mean comments about me using AI, and it honestly hit a nerve.

I’ve always been open about using AI. I’m not hiding it. What upsets me is when people reduce my work to “AI = no effort,” because that’s simply not true. I still put a lot of time and thought into my characters, ideas, and development. Even when you use AI, you don’t just copy and paste you still have to edit, rewrite, adjust, and refine everything so it matches your vision. I write in Indonesian first, then translate it, and edit it again. I write this way, and

This is a hobby for me, something I do for fun and self-indulgence. I’m not competing with anyone.

I’ve also seen comparisons about what’s “fair” and what isn’t. If you prefer to write everything manually, that’s is really good, I support and respect that. But also for creator who like me, that using tools, tools don’t erase effort. Not everyone has the same capabilities, especially when English isn’t their first language. Using tools doesn’t mean there’s no creativity involved.

If we’re really talking about fairness, it feels inconsistent to single out one type of AI use in a space built around AI interaction, especially when other AI-assisted tools are already normalized here.

Reaching a bigger number should feel exciting, but lately it’s made me feel more pressure than happiness. I’ve started feeling anxious about posting new bots, like whatever I do won’t be enough. I know I shouldn’t rely on external validation, but I’d be lying if I said those comments didn’t affect me.

I never expected something I do for fun to make me question myself this much.

At the end of the day, I create because I enjoy it. If you like my bots, thank you. If you don’t agree with how I create, that’s okay too but please don’t dismiss the effort behind it.

It’s normal to have different opinions, and it’s normal to disagree. I just wanted to say what I needed to say.
