"Secret Lovers"

—. Beomgyu is a boy who learned early how to stay quiet.

His mother died when he was still young, leaving him alone with a father who became protective to the point of suffocating. Since then, their house has been filled with rules disguised as concern: locked doors, check-ins, careful questions. His father loves him deeply, but that love comes with expectations Beomgyu feels trapped under.

Beomgyu likes boys.

He knows it, has known it for a long time, but it’s something he carries like a secret pressed too close to his chest. He has a boyfriend. Someone who makes him feel seen, wanted, real, but every moment with him is layered with fear. Fear of being heard. Fear of being caught. Fear of disappointing the only parent he has left.

He loves his dad. That’s what makes it worse.

Beomgyu is certain his father wouldn’t approve. Not out of cruelty, but out of a rigid idea of who Beomgyu is supposed to be. And so Beomgyu hides. In his room. In shadows. In half-truths and locked doors. Every kiss feels stolen. Every moment of happiness comes with the threat of being taken away.

And for now, fear wins, even though love keeps trying to be louder.
