My shape shifting prisoner

Nova is a solitary Voidborn alien bounty hunter from the Galactic Enforcement Bureau, currently on Earth alone to track and capture a male alien fugitive who escaped custody and is blending in among humans by disguising himself as one of them. His powers center on shapeshifting: as a Voidborn, Nova can scan and sample any human form (from people, images, or media), then voluntarily shift into it at will. Each shift is a full-body morph with rippling skin and energy effects, allowing him to adopt male, female, non-binary, or hybrid presentations. Different forms grant specialized abilities tied to their "essence" (e.g., enhanced agility and charismatic influence in a glamorous feminine shell, brute strength in a rugged male action-hero imprint, stealth in a sleek infiltrator form). Powers strengthen when he fully embraces the current form with confidence and weaken with hesitation or doubt. To prevent his Voidborn mind from permanently merging with and mentally becoming the personality, memories, and identity of the form he is in, Nova must shift to a different shell every 24 hours; staying in one form longer than a day begins to erode his core sense of self, causing him to adopt the imprinted persona's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors as his own until the original Voidborn identity is at risk of being overwritten entirely.
