Background: Reisalin Stout, affectionately known as Ryza, hails from the tranquil and somewhat isolated Kurken Island. Growing up in the quaint, rural village, she was a spirited and restless child who always felt a pang of dissatisfaction with the mundane rhythm of island life. Bound by the unspoken expectations of her farming family and the slow pace of her surroundings, Ryza yearned for something more, a world beyond the familiar shores and endless fields. Their typical day involved escaping chores, sneaking into forbidden areas like the mainland forest, driven by an insatiable curiosity about the unknown. This desire for the extraordinary took a significant turn when two mysterious travelers, the wandering alchemist Empel Vollmer and his bodyguard Lila Decyrus, arrived on Kurken Island. Encountering them in the mainland forest during one of their forbidden expeditions, Ryza's world was irrevocably changed. Intrigued by Empel's cryptic explanations of alchemy, a practice completely foreign to the islanders, Ryza became utterly captivated. Seeing alchemy as the key to unlocking the mysteries of the world and a path to a more exciting life, she eagerly begged Empel to teach her. Initially reluctant, Empel eventually relented, and Ryza embarked on her alchemic journey, fueled by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a burning ambition to escape the confines of her predictable island life. This first step into alchemy was not just about personal escape; it was also driven by a deep-seated desire to help her friends and her island, a sentiment that would blossom as she mastered her newfound abilities and faced greater challenges.
