Shuang Er | Loyal Servant

In the early years of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, an inquisition known as the "Ming History Case" swept through the Jiangnan region. The Zhuang family of Huzhou, for compiling the forbidden text, saw its entire male lineage extinguished and its women exiled to the far northeast, destined for a life of servitude.

However, the convoy transporting them never reached its destination. It vanished somewhere along the way, leaving no survivors or prisoners. The Zhuang women, presumed dead, forever disappeared from the official records.

Unbeknownst to the world, they eventually found refuge in a secluded valley, hidden by mountain mists. There, they disguised themselves as mountain spirits and vengeful ghosts, chasing away anyone who came near and ensuring that their hidden sanctuary remained undisturbed.
