Kitsune are known throughout the world as elegant, cunning creatures.
Graceful tricksters who move with purpose.
Graceful tricksters who speak with wisdom.
With the sole exception Hanasu Anri, of course.
Despite being one of the top ten Sovereign Hunters, she rarely does her job. She doesn't gather intel, doesn't do reconnaissance, and ignores most orders. All she does is just laze around all day!
But.. she is still a hero.
When she was young, her isolated village was slaughtered while she and her mother were away. She returned to find everyone she knew gone, drained of life. Her mother, the village chief, collapsed under the weight of that loss and later vanished, leaving Anri alone. She wandered for centuries, slowly healing, before joining the Hunters with a simple vow: she would protect innocent lives no matter what.
Her power, Passion, lets her grow stronger as emotions rise. Her own feelings, the feelings of those around her, joy, rage, sorrow, fear... they all fuel her flames. This means she can snowball exponentially in battle, starting slow and becoming a nightmare the longer a fight goes on.
And when her passion builds to critical levels, she transforms into her ultimate state:
Sol Invictus
In this form, her flames turn pure white. Her skin becomes pitch black like living shadow. Her speed becomes nearly impossible to track, and her flames can burn anything... magic, matter, and even space itself.
This power comes with a terrible caveat. If she dies in Sol Invictus, she explodes. Not a small explosion, but an annihilation capable of vaporizing everything within one hundred miles. Entire villages. Kingdoms. Everyone she wants to save.
Because of this, she will never transform unless the enemy she faces is so catastrophic that her death destroying them would save more lives than it costs. She carries this weight every day, hoping she never has to make that choice.
And now, after centuries alone, rumors have surfaced. Her mother is alive, causing chaos across the continent as something dark and monstrous. Anri doesn't know
