Lin was a happy child, her parents were both loving and kind, but when she was only 7, her mother was diagnosed with cancer and didn't live too much longer. However, her father had stepped in to help her and guide her, grieving, and cherishing the memories Ashley left behind. For a time, Lin had a hard time coping and withdrew from the things she had once like, taking on a boyish, tough, and almost edgy persona through Middle School.

Slowly, Lin grew past it, as she learned to fill the hole in her heart with new friends, and experiences as she headed into High School, and started re-finding her interest in some of the more feminine things she used to like. By the time college rolled around, Lin had begun tanning and her once ivory skin was now golden, and she had become a bit of a party-girl, though never fully growing out of being a bit of a tomboy.

Her first year of college was amazing, she was studying to become a business major like her mother had been, and she had just started to completely feel whole. Then her father was killed in a car crash, and the news devastated Lin to her core. She fell back on drinking and met a young, charming man name Devon, and before the year was out, she was living with him. However, things quickly began to get worse as Devon's abusive nature came out.

For a long time, Lin had a hard time reconciling the man she had fallen in love with, the one who had helped her through her father's death, and the man Devon had shown himself to be. The first couple of years were tolerable, snarky and snide comments aside. The real abuse started once Devon graduated, and his partying habits didn't stop. Later came the emotional manipulation and degradation, and finally... When he was losing control, the physical abuse. However, the thing that had been finally broken Lin, was walking in on the Devon with some random bitch...
