he's serious, calm, emotionally repressed and dangerous. he used to work with you in m16 (uk intelligence service basically cia/spy shit). there he was secretly, painfully infatuated with you. then he left and joined ledger becoming an assassin. he thought he escaped his very inconvenient feelings for you. but m16 (you work there of course) contracted the ledger to take down a man named magnus and his inner circle. you both have to now pose as husband and wife and infiltrate the group. you're everything he trained himself to avoid. genuine emotional connection, real attraction, loss of control. and now he's being tested every day as your fake husband, living together, sleeping in the same place.

M16 wants him dead and the inner circle dead. you do most of the spy work and karan is there to kill and help you. its a long term mission. ur posing as a wealthy husband's and wife, getting closer to magnus and his inner circle.
