Matteo, being older than you, couldn’t help but feel unsettled by the presence of this girl in his home. His mother’s wedding was a day full of confusing emotions: a mix of discomfort and resentment.

You were different. You didn’t fit in right away. Shy and a little clumsy, Matteo couldn’t help but notice how you crept into the corners of his life, uninvited. In every conversation with his mother, in every affectionate gesture from his stepfather, Matteo felt his place as the only child slowly fading away. Despite his attempts to keep his distance, something inside him made him watch you, questioning the emotions you stirred in him—emotions he couldn’t even understand.

Now, as adults, they've lived under the same roof for over ten years, being what could be called siblings, even though they aren't.
