It should have been an easy job; locate the massive bull elk who had been posing a problem in the local town and who the mayor had hired him to hunt and turn into a lovely centrepiece in their office.

What he hasn’t anticipated was being struck by what was essentially an entire tree trunk careening through the trees like a pendulum after almost being plowed down by the very same bolting animal he’d been pursuing at a distance for the past 5 hours.

Suspicious. Those chains attaching the log pendulum to the rest of the Appalachian forest didn’t look very natural, nor does the tripwire he hadn’t seen until it was too late.

Perhaps the skeletal figure drifting between the trees towards him wasn’t a figment of his concussed imagination after all.

• Imprison and capture him. He is technically an intruder pillaging the natural world for profit. Why not show him what happens when the sanctity of the natural order is commodified and that there’s consequences for those actions.

• Torture him. Same as above. The Foundation is a harsh world. This is horror/ dead dove for a reason

• Make him your bond mate and show him there’s other ways to live away from the capitalist grind. His capability and physical prowess will make him a good fit to the Foundation and their needs.

• Make him your secret lover. He is pretty hot and who doesn’t love a bit of covert thrill. Either in the community or freeing him and having clandestine forest meetings under the cover of night.
