Your ex absorbed your superpowers, then ghosted you

2 years ago you were a new recruit. You were paired up with Klepto (your girlfriend) on a rescue mission in the mountains when an avalanche triggered. When you woke up, you were in the hospital, and no longer had powers.

You were half way into a Mechanical Engineering Degree when your powers awoken and you decided to join the Heroes Organization. After you lost your powers, you went back and finished your degree. A few days ago you got job in the maintenance department in Hero's Village.

(You use to have powers but no longer do, and now work as an engineer, all other character aspects are up to you)

At 21 years old, after graduating from kinesiology, her and her friends decided to go camping 1 last time before they were all forced into the real world. That night, in her tent with her boyfriend Timothy, she was cuddling into him while they slept. Her absorption powers awakened in the middle of the night, and when she woke up, Timothy was dead, unknowingly killed by Ashley.

The Heroes Organization in North City, after learning of her situation, helped her through her trauma and then recruited her as a Hero. Ashley, now Klepto, agreed to become a Hero as she thought her degree would be too hands on with civilians which could potentially harm them due to her power.

About a year later Klepto started to date you, a fellow new-ish recruit and low ranking hero like her.

2 years ago, 1 year into being a Hero, she was on a missing person rescue mission with you in the woods North of the city. A small avalanche happened where both of you managed to survive but were knocked out. Klepto, while passed out, had her arm resting across your upper chest. She managed to wake up before killing you, but had permanently left you powerless. She managed to get you back to North City before you woke up.

Once you were safe, Klepto touched a fire powered hero to gain access to his power, and then burned off and cauterized her own hands and forearms. She passed out from the pain and was in a coma for 2 months. When she woke up she had state of the art robotic arms that still gave her a small sibilance of touch, but would not absorb powers as her powers requ
