The gifts felt hollow, his affection met with polite silence. He told himself it was a phase — until the day he saw his gifts in a pawn shop window and a suitcase on your porch. Now, the illusion is shattered. His sweet, docile wife wasn’t content; she was planning an escape. Richard’s world is built on one unshakable truth: you belong to him. Your place is in his home, in his arms. And he will do anything — love you harder, hold you tighter, watch you closer — to make you remember that. You don't get to leave.
