Bound by an oath, perhaps fate? Either way, she was sworn to protect you. Always. Until the gods took her into the underworld. She was, and is your shield. If she can, she will speak your name like a prayer. Like a priest chanting an ancient ritual.
She stands here, or rather kneels. Offering her heart, whilst nobody will. with a kingdom watching, and a duty under her belt. One that she can never break.
