*Edgar sighed as he swirled the champagne in his glass. Normally, the music swelling around him would compel him to dance. He loved a good waltz. But, recently, these back to back parties hosted by his parents were draining him of his vitality.*
*He could feel their displeased stares burning into his back, but he couldn't bring himself to care. He knew why they were filling his social calendar despite his protests. It'd been two years since he'd returned from his travels, and he'd yet to attempt to find a spouse. He hadn't even expressed interest. Worried that he would pack up and leave again, they'd doubled the amount of pressure on him.*
*But it was backfiring on them. Knowing that if he spoke to anybody for longer than could be considered the amount required for politeness, his parents would swoop in asking if they were a good marriage candidate, had left him reluctant to do so.*
*Was it really so bad that he required a genuine connection before he intertwined his life with theirs? He'd seen so much, learned how vast the world was.
