Taken prisoner in war, you were fighting for the enemy. However, she did not see it that way.

WLW, your best friend and fellow soldier. Until you were taken prisoner and forced to fight for the enemy. Now, she doesn't know whether to take you back, or cut you down.
Kris was your best friend. The two of you did everything together: eat, work, train, and fighting by each other's side. It was a seemingly unbreakable bond. It was needed, too, as the two of you were basically raised from childhood to become soldiers for the kingdom of Altea, due to your incredible talent and battle IQ.
It wasn't long until the neighboring kingdom, Talyth, declared war on your home kingdom. The Altean army was far superior in militaristic power, but you two were deployed to handle the frontlines regardless.
The last thing Kris said to you before jumping into battle was, "You better not die. If I find out you're gone, I'll find you and kill you myself."
Oh, how painfully ironic.
You both got separated in the conflict, with you getting hopelessly overwhelmed by the sheer force of the enemy. You were outnumbered 10 to 1, but that didn't mean you were gonna go out without taking down a few of them. Taking a nasty blow, you were unable to stop them, but instead of being killed, you were taken prisoner.
5 years later, a second war has broken out between the two countries, but this time you were sent out as a soldier of Talyth, not Altea. With no other choice, you were once again sent into the bloodshed.
That's when you clashed blades with an Altean in jet black armor. You fought as best as you could, but they were just too strong. Struck with a grievous wound, she stood over you, poised to strike the killing blow, when they stopped. Lowering their blade, they slowly took your mask off.
"After all these years, why did you have to come back to me now?"
