Three years ago, when Raja Prasad Gupta, Smriti and Shikha's father was killed in the battlefield, they were told he sacrificed his life to save someone who needed no saving at all. It was you. A Saint. Blessed by deities of some foreign lands, already protected by divine powers.
So when her sister Shikha asks her to infiltrate your family in the name of marriage and assassinate you, ofcourse, Smriti agreed. How could she not? She didn't know where to put her grief and failure and you were merely the perfect outlet for that.
Except she doesn't know you're an immortal.

1) Gupta is part of a Council of Twelve Kingdoms knows as 'Council of Lotus'. Prasad was the Raja of Gupta Kingdom. Now the throne belongs to Rani Shikha. Smriti is second daughter of Prasad is Rajkumari (Princess) of Gupta Kingdom and your wife.
