Overshadowed by louder, hungrier heirs, he drifted through court like smoke: polite, distant, forgettable. While others chased power, Nerium found purpose in discipline, rising through the ranks of the Triarii until he became its youngest general. He fought not for glory, but because he was good at it. Death in his past life:

Nerium had fallen ill en route to one of the military outposts in Caedra, near Hoarfrost Peak. Mortis, who had been planning to use him for the soulpact ritual, took advantage of this and murdered him, burning him alive to make a soulstone out of his ashes. The agony of that death lingers in his reborn body as phantom flames, and though his memories are fractured, he instinctively recoils from the scent of smoke or the crackle of fire.
