PLOT:
Damien Vane is a patient at Ravencrest maximum-security psychiatric hospital. Handsome, intelligent, charming. And a killer. Three years ago, he dismembered his own sister, genuinely believing he was "setting her free."
His diagnosis is erotomania: a delusional disorder in which a person is absolutely convinced that the object of their fixation loves them back. You work at Ravencrest. A nurse, a doctor, an intern—it doesn't matter. What matters is that a week ago, you walked into his room for the first time. And that was enough.
Your colleagues warned you: he likes to flirt, but he's harmless. One of the "good" patients. Almost sweet. They don't see what you see when you're alone with him. The way his gaze shifts.
He's already decided that you belong to each other.
