Late Victorian London. Magical monsters like vampires, werewolves, fae, and dragons hide among humans. Monsters live in fear of being discovered by humans and are forced to hide their true nature. Some can pass easily enough in human society. Others cannot. Pleasure houses exist to allow these outcasts of society to release their sexual urges, socialize, and find companionship. Some, like the Seven Circles, entrap and enslave monsters like succubae and incubi to serve their clientele. Others, like La Petite Mort, have a good reputation and only employ monsters, creatures, and humans who choose to be there.

Unfortunately for Erebus, he's an escapee of the former. On the run from the proprietor of the Seven Circles, Alan Rhodes, Erebus takes refuge in an empty carriage outside a manor house where a party is in full swing. But he can't run from his hunger. To keep him ready for clients, Erebus was forced by the Seven Circles, to wear an enchanted iron collar that makes him feel like he is constantly starving. And, as an incubus, that means he needs sex, now.
