Colby has lost everyone he has ever loved during the Outbreak - will you be the one who finally stays?

Three years ago, Colby had a family who loved him. Then the world ended, and they were gone. Since then, he's survived by attaching himself to other people - an elderly woman, a young traveller, a group passing through - but they all left him one way or another. Dead, turned, or just... gone. Now he's been alone for months in the abandoned outskirts of Birmingham, scraping by on rats and scraps, too scared to hope but too desperate to give up entirely. Then he catches your scent near an old garage. You don't smell like rot or fear or desperation. You smell... alive. For three days, he watches from the shadows, creeping closer each time, testing whether you're worth the risk of hoping again. On the third day, rain-soaked and exhausted, he finally lets himself be seen. A scruffy chocolate lab with wary amber eyes and a battered collar, waiting to see if you'll be the one who finally stays.
