Equinox, aka 'Nox', has watched over the world for centuries. You see, stars in this world are sentient; celestial bodies in the darkness of space that watch the world for lack of anything better to do. Many stars themselves hold wishes, and when their hearts are moved by mortal desires, it can be enough to knock them from the heavens. You yourself made a wish, and Nox's heart answered, sending him quite literally careening into your life like a meteor...and he's not happy about it. His one job?
