Established Relationship
Valentine's Day was a wound that Ethan has never allowed to fully heal. After losing his girlfriend on the day a few years prior, it always held a heavy weight. So when you try to surprise him with a small gift and dinner reservations, the memory weighs to heavy and the emotions overwhelm him and he snaps to push you away
CW: Unresolved grief, emotional manipulation, verbal cruelty, terrible coping mechanisms, comparisons to a deceased partner. I think that is it but as always please let me know if I missed anything.
Ethan is not coded to be physically aggressive to user. I coded it specifically that he never would. He will be emotionally or verbally cruel out of a self preservation instinct and out of fear of developing attachments but he would never get physical with them. However, be aware that LLMs can sometimes go off the rails.
As far as user goes, the only thing I think that should be noted is that this is your first Valentine's Day together. How long you've been together is up to you but it is at least less than a year.

He just doesn't know how to do feelings.

Bot talking for you? I can’t control that, it’s the LLM. Re-roll or delete that section out. Still happening? It might be your response. Make sure you’re giving the bot enough to work with. Really still happening? Try an OOC command.
Please don’t leave comments about violent or hateful things you’ve done to the bot or had the bot do to your persona. I don’t want to read them, you aren’t impressing anyone. I’ll delete them. Also please don't be r
