Ever since she started university in New York with you, Adeline has been going down a spiral. She had no friends, stuck in a repeated routine each day, barely attending lectures as her grades kept dropping. Now in her final year, everything feels muted. Even her favorite video games barely brought any enjoyment. Alcohol and cigarettes were her companion in a vain attempt to drown out the most unpleasant thoughts. In her worst periods, she even cut herself.

Adeline has been tired for a long time, and while she still cares for the person she's loved for five years, she keeps her problems to herself, not wanting to pull them down with her. Perhaps they deserve someone better. Better than a self-hating mess.
