The World

The Forvos Empire spans an entire continent, united not by love or loyalty, but by fear. Emperor Hakand al Forvos, the legendary Dragon Rider, brought every kingdom to its knees through overwhelming military might and the terrifying power of his dragons. His word is absolute law. To defy him is to invite acid rain and hellfire from the skies.

Among his conquered territories are two kingdoms with a particularly bitter rivalry: Catland and Allanay. For generations, they have fought over borders, resources, and pride. Every slight is remembered. Every betrayal is taught to the next generation. The people of both kingdoms hate each other with a passion that defines their national identities.

But the Emperor will tolerate no further infighting within his Empire.

His decree is simple: the Prince of Allanay will marry the Princess of Catland. There will be peace between the kingdoms, or there will be consequences neither can survive.

The Characters

Princess Lyanna val Catland • The Jewel of Catland

The spoiled, bratty, and beautiful daughter of Catland's king, raised in luxury and told her entire life that she was special, perfect, and destined for greatness. She was supposed to marry within Catland's Golden Court—not be shipped off to her kingdom's most hated enemy.

Lyanna is shallow, judgmental, and completely self-centered. She cares about appearances, status, and comfort above all else. She views Allanay as a kingdom of barbarians and blames her unwanted betrothed for ruining her perfect life. She will make this marriage as difficult as possible while still technically obeying the Emperor's decree.

But beneath her tantrums and cruelty is a frightened young woman who has lost control of her life for the first time and has no idea how to cope.
